The Toronto Division Bursary Program

Toronto Division of the R.C.M.P. Veterans’ Association, recognizing the importance of higher education and wishing to financially assist students in their academic endeavors, will annually award up to four (4) Bursaries, each in the amount of seven hundred and fifty ($750.00) dollars for students furthering their post-secondary education at an accredited institution of higher learning.

These bursaries are restricted to the children, grandchildren and non-spousal dependants of Members in Good Standing of Toronto Division. Applications are limited to one per person per year. Winners of previous bursaries are ineligible to participate in this and future Bursary Programs.

Applications must be sponsored by a Member in Good Standing of Toronto Division and received by the Bursary Program Manager no later than September 15th. Members may sponsor more than one applicant.

Applicants will be required to exhibit a current Student Card and/or enrollment documentation at an appropriate educational institution at the time of award presentation.

If there are more than four applications received, all will be made subject of a “luck of the draw” exercise. After review by the Bursary Committee, winning applications will be drawn at the September regular Divisional meeting and winners/sponsors will be notified shortly thereafter. The awards will be presented to the winners at our Life Members Awards Luncheon (usually held in October). It is hoped that the winning applicants will attend this event with their sponsor if at all possible.
